To Educate about, Preserve and Beautify

    our Historic Neighborhood

  • Be Square Aware

You have seen these Square Aware posters all around the neighborhood — but did you know there are over a dozen questions and answers?

LSP has organized Pillars & Porticos, a self-guided tour of historic Logan Square. Become more Square Aware as you walk, bike or drive our neighborhood guided by original, in-depth research and writing. Many current and historic photos make it equally valuable to read right at home.

Pillars & Porticos is available to all LSP members at no additional cost. Can't find the email with your login? Try to reset your password or you can contact us for help.

    Comfort Station

Comfort Station is a turn-of-the-century structure turned multidisciplinary arts space in the heart of Chicago’s Logan Square. Originally a shelter for trolley riders in the early 1900s, the building was eventually defunct and was used to store the city’s lawn equipment for decades. The space was adopted and restored in 2010 by Logan Square Preservation and opened as its current incarnation as a community-focused art space in 2011.

    Annual Preservation Award

Each December, Logan Square Preservation presents an award to the best preservation project for that year.

  • Get Involved

Activities within LSP are organized under several standing committees. Start with the contacts here to find activities that fit your interests.

Contact the Chair – Shana Liberman

The work of the Beautification committee has the most noticeable impact — from tree planting to education and advocacy — encompassing all projects that support and improve the boulevards and the Logan Square neighborhood.

Contact the Co-Chairs – Kate Paris-Tsan and Bruce Anderson

The P&R committee organizes many activities to promote LSP's mission to preserve and restore the historic character and resources. Those include advocating for historic preservation at community meetings and directly to City officals.

Contact the Chair – Matt Bergstrom

The Archival committee collects photos, documents and all kinds of other artifacts from the history of Logan Square, and maintains an online catalog of our collection.

    Outreach, Events and Fundraising

Contact the Chair – Steve Isakson

Outreach includes initiatives to work with LSP members and the larger Logan Square community, organizing events and fundraising, and operating LSP's online and social media. Large events, such as the biennial Housewalk, have their own sub-committee and chairperson.

    Contact us about Membership

Membership is tasked with engaging existing members, promoting LSP and preservation in the neighborhood community and the City in order to grow our organization.
