The Logan Square Foundation, an effort of LSP, is a newly formed 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting the long-term vitality, preservation, and stewardship of the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago.

Founded to provide sustainable charitable support for community-based initiatives, the Foundation’s primary purpose is to serve as an endowment and funding partner for the work of Logan Square Preservation, our long-standing nonprofit organization committed to preserving and strengthening the architectural, cultural, and civic identity of Logan Square.

In addition to supporting preservation advocacy and educational initiatives, the Foundation maintains and develops charitable funds dedicated to:

  • Tree planting, greening, and neighborhood beautification
  • Affordable housing and equitable community development
  • Historic preservation and restoration projects
  • Public history, education, and cultural programming
  • Community stewardship and placemaking initiatives
  • An easement program focusing on protecting the neighborhood’s vernacular architecture

The Logan Square Foundation believes that preservation is not simply about protecting buildings, but about sustaining the social, cultural, and physical fabric of a neighborhood for future generations. Through charitable giving, partnerships, and long-term investment, the Foundation seeks to support a Logan Square that remains vibrant, inclusive, historic and livable.

The Foundation is supported by generous neighbors and the Chicago Community Trust.
